Bring on the 30s!

This post is long over due, but lately that is the way life has been happening. I was asked the other day by a client at the gym why it seems I am always rushing into work. It really doesn't matter what time of day we have to be somewhere...we are always rushing in at the last minute.

Anyway....

Welcome to my funeral...a little gathering to remember my youth if you will. Above is a table full of memories from my past. Plus a few gifts to help me enter into old age.

I turned the big 3-0 on March 1st. I was actually ready and excited about the whole idea. I think turning 29 was harder. By the time 30 rolled around I was over it. Nate on the other hand wanted to make sure that I felt as old as dirt:) He must remember that his big day is only months away.

The whole shindig was a surprise party for me. I thought we were going out to dinner and then coming back to have cake and ice cream. About and hour before the whole thing went down I started to get a little suspicious. There were a few details that just weren't lining up right. But I had no idea all that was in store for me.

Nate had gathered a bunch of friends to help us celebrate. Each of them came bearing gifts for the old lady of the hour. I scored a ton of diapers, Ensure and denture cream.

Here I am listening to Nate give a eulogy to my youth which included reading a poem I wrote when I was in 4th grade...awesome.

And of course the big cake reveal. Isn't my husband so sweet:)

Getting dressed in all black should have given me a clue. Nate told me I should wear a nice dress so we could go out to eat in style. I refused because dinner was suppose to be quick and I didn't want to change my clothes. I have the right to be stubborn on my birthday right?

Thank you to all my friends who helped put this together. Apparently the planning started weeks before and no one spilled the beans.

A special thanks to my hubby. I know he put a lot of thought into this party. Love you buddy!

I am excited to see what the next 30 years of my life have in store for me!

Spoiled!

(Please ignore the huge mess in the background. Apparently I missed that small detail when taking this pic)
A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to have Nate's mom, dad, sister and her two kids in town. We really enjoyed the company. We don't get many visitors out this way!

We had a fun time sightseeing, eating yummy food and treats, crafting and just hanging out. And lucky for my Nate and his dad got my garden all ready to go. I have never done a garden and finally have the backyard to do it so I am so excited. Now we just need the warm weather to come back so I can get to work.

Little miss Cam loved the extra attention and was spoiled by her grandma and grandpa. She has been wanting the prince dolls for her princesses for such a long time and grandma finally fulfilled her wishes. These dolls go with us EVERYWHERE. A big thanks to Gma Rencher!

Oh the simple pleasures.

Making Progress

It only took me 8 months to start this project but I finally got to painting Cambri's room. I bought the paint forever ago but kept getting side tracked. There is still obviously a lot of work to do to finish her room but the biggest project is done and now I just need to add the finishing touches. I am hoping to get her windows covered with a cute yellow fabric and I need to find a nightstand as well. Her room is my favorite right now so I am hoping to use the momentum to actually finish her room before she decides it's not cute anymore.

I wish everyday could be like this...

My mood is definitely affected by the amount of sunshine in the sky which means the last week has been such a happy week!!!

I hope it is here to stay!!!

We have been working on some cool tricks now that we can play outside. Check it out!...

Don't be distracted by the saggy diaper. Or the fact that Sadie isn't wearing any pants.

And of course the big sis wanted to show off her skills.

I just love that my daughter is wearing shorts and a tanktop in the middle of March.

For the moment I can't think of anything to write home about. My mind and body are exhausted so pretty much all I can think about is my pillow. I am really hoping there are no late night phone calls tonight (I am considering sleeping on the couch on nights when Nate is on call:))

Oh wait I do have something I want to make sure I never forget. Today after church Cambri and I were playing outside on a blanket. Cambri had a bunch of pictures from church that she was using to teach me a lesson about Jesus. Her lesson went like this...

"Hi this is Heavenly Father. We created the world for you to live, the water and the fishes. And Nephi cause he was the goodest person ever. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen".

And there you have it. The abridged version of the gospel according to Cambri. I love her. She also has the First Article of Faith memorized thanks to her teachers at church. I am proud of my little girl and her honest desire to be good. Sometimes I forget what her little brain is capable of processing.

We have encountered a little issue with telling the truth...not really sure what to do about that. Any tips?

I am embracing a new life and have to be up by 6am so I best be off to bed.

Sometimes...

...I let my girls decide what they want to wear with absolutely no help from me. I know this is something I should do anyway, but it is hard for me. I suppose I am a bit of a control freak. I hope people can tell what days I choose and what day they choose:)

A few days ago we went to the gym looking like this...

and this.....

And she is off.....

My Sadie monkey has enough personality for 10 people. She rocked her outfit with an attitude to match it:)

I will soon report on my fantastic birthday...the BIG 3-0!!!

I need to get the pictures first from a friend and then I will blog the details.

I was spoiled rotten and felt very blessed.

Getting older is no biggie when I have so much to be grateful for.

Weak...

Every morning I go to the gym and workout. I consider my workouts pretty intense. I am one of those weird people that enjoys the pain of a hard workout. During my workout I promise myself that the time I am spending at the gym won't be wasted...I will eat healthy, I won't eat too many calories, I will drink lots of water...the list goes on. Today was one of those days. My legs were on fire from squat jumps; shoulders burning from pushups. I was determined. So why come 6pm does all the willpower go out the window!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriouslyit is so frustrating!

I didn't really eat crap food today. I just ate lots of food. And then finished the night with a bowl of cereal...just because.

I suppose the answer is going to bed at 6pm.

Or I could just buck up and be tough, but that doesn't sound very fun.

Tomorrow will be better...at least til 6pm:)

Good Night!

Time to Catch Up...

I haven't been good at documenting our life for the last couple months. The only pictures I have are the ones from my phone. Life has been pretty uneventful (I am not complaining) which is why I haven't been great at blogging (that and I am addicted to Pinterest). But I am sad that so many memories have been lost due to my laziness. Time to cathc up!!!

I am super tired and my eyes hurt from working on the computer so please excuse any typos...

And since I can't seem to blog without pictures here is our life over the last few months in no particular order-

Don't you just wnat to squeeze this little puff ball! So cute!

Again excuse the picture quality, I was too lazy to pull out the real camera.

It is no wonder why Sadie runs from her sister any time she comes near her:)

One day they will like each other right?

In January Cambri and I got to go on a Mommy Daughter date to Disney on Ice. Cambri was soooooooooooooooo excited. She loved every minute of it. Unfortunately she started running a fever about half way through the show. She sat on my lap and cuddled the whole time. 5 minutes into our car ride home she was sound asleep. Luckily the next day she still had good things to say about the show and was asking if she could go again with her daddy.

Here we are celebrating New Year's Eve at 9pm (cause we are party animals like that).

We actually had a lot of fun playing games with friends. I think we were home by 10pm. Nate and I stayed up long enough to celebrate with some sparkling apple cider. I was asleep by 12:03am. Nate was crazy and stayed up to watch the Chronicles of Narnia.

A goal of ours for 2012 is to go on dates at least 2x a month. For our anniversary in December I gave Nate a year of planned dates (thank you Pinterest). January's date was Crazy Bowling. We used Skittles to determine how we had to bowl on our turn. Each color was a different style. None of the skittles allowed us to bowl normal. We looked rediculous. Especially since we went on Friday night and the rest of the bowling alley was full of bowling leagues. I am not sure they appreciated our lack of professionalism.
I had to bowl this way almost every time it seemed. It didn't prove to be very successful.

Nate and I got in trouble for using the flash on our camera phone cause it was distracting to the bowlers 5 lanes away from us.....Really people?!!!

The final score? Nate 79 Me 44.

Lucky for me the winner wasn't necessarily the one with the high score. We guessed at the beginning of the game what we thought each other would get. I guessed better:)

Slowly but surely I am getting the trim painted in our house. I finally have the entryway done. I still want to paint the walls but that will have to wait.

I was going to make a list of the projects I have accomplished since last blogging but just realized it isn't that impressive. Bummer I thought I had been doing well. Maybe next month I will have more to show.

Cambri is turning into a big girl right before my eyes. This pictures makes her look so long!

She is loving preschool and ballet. She conquered her fear of gymnastics but it isn't her favorite. She loves to color and we usually color at least once a day. Still a momma's girl. Has an obsession with holding my thumb...not really sure why. Wants to be my big helper. Can't wait until it is her 4th birthday. Love Her!

Sadie...Daddy's girl through and through. And not just a little bit. If Daddy is home you will find Sadie following him around like a puppy. She screams if I try to take her away from her dad. Little Stinker! Everyday she gets more adventurous. Today in fact she fell out of her crib. She is only 16 months old!!! She loves her big sis and wants to be just like her. Is already a big tease. Loves to dance. It is adorable when she does. Love Her!!!

Doesn't every good mom let their child play with markers?

There you have it, our random life in pictures.
