Let the fun begin...

Yesterday Cambri threw her first little tantrum. She was crawling towards me and was mad that I wouldn't just pick her up. When she sprawled flat on her stomach it was just too funny and I had to grab the camera for documentation. One very mad little bunny.
I love this picture.

I don't think she was as amused as I was.

Somehow she still loves me the most.
I am sure this is only the beginning of many more tantrums to come:)

The Reason Why...

My skin has orange blotches all over-
My stomach hurts...except for the few that Annie helped me eat I ate the whole bag by myself...in less than 2 days:)
And reason #2 why my stomach hurts-

Reason #3-

Reason #4...wow it was a bad weekend-

And last but not least...the reason why our apartment is never clean-

But she sure is cute!

911...

It is true, I had to make my first 911 call. Not really something to be proud of. I was getting ready to go to the fabric store with some friends. I decided to take Cambri outside to wait for our ride. I ended up putting her in the car seat in the back of the car and I sat beside her to wait. I had the keys in my hand so I pushed the lock button on the little clicky thing and put the keys in the diaper bag...you can probably guess where this is going. As I was sitting there I noticed how dirty the dash board was. Since I had a few minutes to spare I grabbed a wipe and decided to clean it. I wiped down the passenger side and then as I was walking around to the driver side I closed both of the car doors that were open. It wasn't until I tried to open the driver side door that I remembered I had locked the car. My heart just dropped. Wouldn't be such a big deal except that the ONLY set of keys we have to this car are now locked inside the car, with my phone and...with my sweet baby girl sitting in her carseat. Yes, I know I am such a good mom:) I called Nate from Annie's phone (who had just shown up as the excitment began). As he was heading home to help me hack into the car I decided this might take awhile and that it was time to call the police to come help me.

Luckily Cambri was very calm through the whole extravaganza. In fact she found it rather amusing watching all of us, including the police officer make faces at her. She just hung out in her car seat clapping her hands and talking back to all of us. She was stuck in the car for about 30 minutes and the whole time she was such a good baby. I am so glad because I think I would have started to freak out if she would have been crying.

By the time we got her out of her carseat her little head was so sweaty. Poor little thing. I am really grateful it wasn't hot outside. We will definitely be getting a second set of keys (or maybe 3 or 4) made so this never happens again.

A Very Happy Birthday...

First of all I need to thank everyone for the many phone calls, text messages, emails and such wishing me a happy birthday. I seriously felt so loved. I couldn't even take all the phone calls. But I will do my best to get back to everyone that did leave messages. Just want you all to know that I appreciate the love!
It was indeed a very happy birthday. Nate made breakfast for me and then later a very yummy dinner. And to top it off he made the cutest cake ever. We celebrated by eating cake an ice cream with friends that night. It was a very fun birthday. The best part is I got to celebrate it with my friend Jenni whose birthday was today.
Nate has serious cake making skills. Check out that rubber ducky. I really am impressed with the cakes he makes for my birthdays. This ducky was yummy chocolate with cream cheese frosting. Very tasty.
Jenni contributed a most delicious Apple Dapple cake.

Two pretty cute birthday girls.

The party was too much for Cambri...So we put her in the crib with George. It was their first sleep over.

The party continued the next day when Annie and Amanda took Jenni and I out to lunch and then treated us to our own mini cakes. This cake was soooooo good. Definitely need to get the recipe to this one.
It has been a few days of fun...now it is time to lay off the cake.
Thanks again for making me feel so special.

Random Request...

At church on Sunday an elderly women came up to me and asked if I was Sister Rencher. She then proceeded to say that she had been told to ask me if I had any pioneer clothing that could be used for the Relief Society birthday celebration. She specifically asked for a long skirt and a shawl. My first thought was...why did someone send her my way to find pioneer clothing? I know I am not the most fasionable person but please tell me I don't look like all my clothes are homemade (not that homemade is a bad thing, but if I made them it would be). This woman asked me with such enthusiasm I couldn't turn her down so I told her I would get a hold of something that would work. So I am now asking any and all of you if you for some reason have anything that resembles pioneer clothing that I could borrow. Or know where I can find some?

All Dressed Up...

Saturday night was the annual gala at Nate's school. I love having a reason to get all dressed up. I bought a pretty dress, put lots of make-up on, stressed about how to do my hair, gave up on trying and just left it pulled half up, got a baby sitter (thanks Nikki) and we danced the night away. It really was such a fun night. Before the gala a big group of us got together for dinner.

Cambri joined us for a litte while because I felt bad making Nikki watch her for 6 hours. Most babies go to bed around 7 or at least by 8. Nope not our little pumpkin. She stayed up until 11:30pm and partied with Nikki.

The decorations are always amazing at the gala. The pics don't do it justice. What a cute couple:)

Our first stop was the treat table. I loved the rice crispy treats the most.

Showing off our moves!

My cute friends.

Busting more moves on the dance floor with Amanda and Gavin.

Too bad this is the last year we will get to go to the gala. I guess I will just have to find another reason to get all fancied up.

Need your Support...

...I have made the decision to run one of the local races here in Des Moines. Problem is it is a 20K and I am sure I have NEVER run that far in my life. In fact I don't really enjoy running. So why am I doing it?...just to say I did it. No other reason. I know many of you have run marathons so a 20k is nothing. I am pretty sure I will NEVER run a marathon. It doesn't even tempt me and if it does I just have to go run a mile and I am reminded that there is no way I can repeat that 25 more times.

I share my new goal with you because I know that if I don't make it a public announcement I won't do it. I need someone to check up on me every once in a while to make sure I am still on top of things. So good luck to me. And if anyone wants to join me the race is Saturday May 30. You can check it our here.
